DEARBORN – The Henry Ford College Division of Social Science, Arts & Fitness brings “The Good Doctor” – the hit Broadway play that combines the talents of Neil Simon and Anton Chekhov – to the stage for two weekends in August at the MacKenzie Fine Arts Center on the main campus, 5101 Evergreen.
“The Good Doctor,” directed by HFC theater instructor Mary F. Bremer-Beer, will hit the stage at 8 p.m. Aug. 7, 8 and 15, and 2 p.m. Aug. 9, 16 and 17.
“The Good Doctor” is renowned, award-winning playwright Simon’s tribute to Chekhov, considered one of the greatest writers in Russian history. The play is broken up into a number of different comedy sketches adapted from Chekhov’s short stories. The common thread throughout the sketches is the character known only as the Writer (who is supposed to be Chekhov).
