TRENTON — A 34-year-old man faces lengthy prison terms after being charged with multiple sexual assaults on at least two teenage girls.
Nicholas Alexander Vuich was bound over Tuesday to Wayne County Circuit Court on eight counts of criminal sexual activity that allegedly took place earlier this year in an apartment in the 1500 block of Marie Street.
Police Detective Mike Oakley said two victims had come forward with allegations that Vuich had sexually assaulted them.
According to police reports, the first victim, 14, described a two-weekend period in February and March during which she visited a friend’s apartment for a sleep-over, and that Vuich had sexually assaulted her more than a dozen times.
“She stated that she agreed to have sex because she wanted to feel loved,” according to the police report.
The girl also said Vuich had befriended her on Facebook prior to the sleep-overs, and had requested that she send him explicit photographs over a private message.
The first girl visited Trenton police on May 15. On May 25 a second girl, 13, told police she had been sexually assaulted that morning by Vuich, who she knew as “Nick Spartan.”
According to police reports, the girl said Vuich had been baby-sitting her, and that she had fallen asleep on the sofa while watching movies. She awoke to his touching her inappropriately about 3 a.m., and that he had sent her subsequent messages on Facebook asking to “hang out.”
Oakley said Vuich was located and taken into custody the next day, and was arraigned on May 29 before 33rd District Court Judge Jennifer Coleman-Hesson on five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct — punishable by up to 15 years in prison — and additional counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Vuich remained in custody on $500,000 cash bond, awaiting arraignment on information in Wayne County Circuit Court.
