DEARBORN — What outdoor summer activities do you enjoy?
Both the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department
and the National Recreation & Parks Association would like to know during July, which has been designated as National Park and Recreation Month.
All month, residents are encouraged to stop by the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, Dearborn Hills Golf Course, Dearborn Ice Skating Center, Camp Dearborn or Mystic Creek Golf Course and fill out a “pin card,” sharing their favorite outdoor summer activities.
“We want to know what outdoor activities our residents enjoy during the summer,” said Erica Lyght, marketing coordinator for the Recreation & Parks Department.
“We’ll post the pin cards so that people can not only provide us with feedback, they’ll also be able to see what others have said.”
The National Recreation & Parks Association, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing park, recreation and conservation efforts that enhance the quality of life for all people, is also soliciting
input.
The theme of this year’s National Park and Recreation Month is “OUT is IN,” and the NRPA is encouraging people to submit photos showing themselves engaging in typically inside activities outdoors.
Photos may be submitted to NRPA via Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #JulyOUTisIN.
Each day during July, the NRPA will select a submission at random and award a $50 Amazon gift card.
