County to open two new flood resource centers

August 24, 2014 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

Dearborn Heights, Ecorse MARCs will open Aug. 25, 26

Wayne County, in partnership with state and local support agencies, will open two additional Multi-Agency Resource Centers this week.

The two MARCs will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Richard A. Young Recreation Center, 5400 McKinley in Dearborn Heights, and Aug. 26 the Ecorse Public Schools Board of Education office, 27225 W. Outer Drive in Ecorse.

MARCs provide a “one stop shop” for residents to ask questions, gather information and find help that will assist in moving forward in their recovery efforts. Federal disaster relief aid and funding will not be distributed at the MARCs.

In addition to the Wayne County Department of Public Health, representatives will be present from the state of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and the State Bureau of Insurance as well as the American Red Cross, Salvation Army and other local support agencies.

The MARCs are walk-in facilities; no appointments are necessary.
