After more than two years of irregular hours and programs, Taylor officials are ready for next month’s grand re-opening of the Taylor Recreation Center as a full-time facility. Mayor Rick Sollars said a celebration on opening day, Oct. 1, will mark the beginning of a membership drive with hopes of maintaining the center’s programs. Memberships – available beginning at $10 per month – and other revenue streams will determine the future of the programs beyond 2015. The grand re-opening begins at 6 p.m. and staff will be on hand to answer questions about the facility and programs, leagues and courses. The campaign runs through Oct. 4 before the official re-opening on Oct. 6. For information on the ceremony, memberships or programs contact Chrystal Kermans-Ditzhazy at [email protected] or call the Taylor Sportsplex at 734-374-8900. Phone lines are still be worked on for the Taylor Recreation Center, 22805 Goddard.
