Representatives helping victims of Aug. 11 floods file for assistance
Federal Emergency Management Agency representatives will be at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., Oct. 1 to 3 to assist victims of the Aug. 11 flood with filing claims for federal assistance.
They will be in the Hubbard Ballroom from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Residents planning on filing a claim should bring their Social Security number, insurance information, damage information, household financial information, and contact information.

The city has no authority in determining if residents qualify for FEMA assistance.
Among the federal assistance that may be available to qualified property owners are grants for home repairs not covered by insurance to make the home safe, sanitary and functional; low-interest loans to cover residential losses not fully compensated by insurance; and other relief programs, according to FEMA.
