A walk to remember

A community came together Friday at the annual Anderson Walk-A-Thon, held in conjunction with the elementary school’s Fire Prevention week activities. Principal Douglas Mentzer said Trenton’s bravest joined the spirit as firefighters walked the neighborhood with students and staff en route to an assembly featuring members of the Trenton Fire Department. Mentzer said the now-traditional walk combined a sense of community, safety lessons and encouragement of outdoor activities while raising money for the school’s Parent Teacher Organization to supplement educational and field trip funds.
