MELVINDALE — A one and a half story house on the 18000 block on Harman sustained significant damage Thursday morning.

A neighbor of the house called 911 about 6:15 a.m. The fire reportedly started in the rear of the house.

Four stations responded to the blaze and fought through heavy fire and smoke to have it contained within 30 minutes, according to firefighters.

The fire is under investigation.
