4 arrested for larceny

March 13, 2015 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — Police arrested four men after they were caught in the act of steeling wheels and tires from a Ford vehicle about 5 a.m. March 11 at the Fairlane Meadows apartment complex.

The four men attempted to flee from police, but were caught after a short chase.

Harrell Niko, 24; Cortez Steele, 22; and Lavoin Stephenson, 34, of Detroit as well as Geremy Tyler, 25, of Melvindale were arrested in the incident. All have multiple warrants from multiple cities.

The men are believed to be responsible for a rash of larcenies involving the same methods of operation, according to a Police Department press release.

“A very vigilant citizen alerted officers to a crime in progress,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “Their prompt attention, coupled with the great work by our patrol officers and detectives will likely be responsible for a decrease in these types of crimes now that four suspects have been arrested and charged.”
