LINCOLN PARK — Police are looking for information on the apparent shooting death of a 28-year-old Dearborn man who was found Monday night in the pawn shop he’d co-owned with his brother.
According to police reports, officers were called to the Platinum Pawn Shop, 1379 Dix, about 9:50 p.m. Monday.
The father of Mouhammad Hassan had called police after discovering the tragedy. Hassan had been working at the store, and the family became alarmed when he hadn’t shown for dinner as planned.
Police had not released the man’s identity Wednesday — which was reported in local broadcast and Arab-American media — and did not confirm if a person of interest had been named.
Police were investigating several leads reviewing surveillance video images from the pawn shop and from neighboring businesses. No one had been taken into custody as of yet, according to a police statement.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lincoln Park police at 313-381-1800.
