
Summer series running in west, east downtowns; food truck rally July 24 and August 28
DEARBORN – Free outdoor concerts are continuing in the city’s business districts this summer, with the next one July 22.
The West Dearborn Downtown Development Authority and the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authoritiy sponsor family-friendly concert series. So bring a lawn chair or blanket and be prepared to have a good time.
The EDDDA will continue its Jazz on the Ave signature concert series from 7 to 9 p.m. July 22 at City Hall Park, 13615 Michigan Ave.
The remaining 2015 schedule is:
• July 22: Jessy J.
• July 29: 496 West and Dee Brown.
• Aug. 5: Charles and Gwen Scales.
• Aug. 12: Alexander Zonjic with the Motor City Horns and special guest Elan Trotman.
The EDDDA will showcase neighborhood restaurants who will be selling their food at booths in the park at each concert. Nearby restaurants also will be open, so concert-goers can grab carryout food and make a picnic dinner before the show. Check out the restaurants in east Downtown at EastDowntownDearborn.com.
The WDDDA will continue its Friday Nights in the Park concert series from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Bryant Library Muirhead Plaza, 22100 Michigan Ave.
The remaining 2015 schedule is:
• July 24: Big Will & the 360 Degree Band.
• August 14: Billy Mack & the Juke Joint Johnnies.
• Aug. 28: The Beat Club (Beatles Tribute).
Food truck rallies will be held in the parking lot across the alley from the concerts on July 24 and Aug. 28 from 5 to 9 p.m.
Rain alternative location for Friday Nights in the Park is the Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave.
