To accommodate these improvements, the center will have limited services Aug. 31 to Sept. 7. The indoor pools will be closed starting at 5 p.m. Aug. 26. The center will return to normal operation at 5:30 a.m. Sept. 8.

DEARBORN – Most portions of the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, including the Dearborn Senior Center, will be closed Aug. 31 to Sept. 7 for the facility’s annual maintenance week.

The two pools at the center will close at 5 p.m. Aug. 26.

During these days, the equipment and facilities will undergo extensive cleaning, reconditioning and refurbishment, including refinishing the floors, cleaning carpeting, tile work in the pools and painting.

“These activities are necessary for the operation of our facility,” said Greg Orner, director of Recreation & Parks. “We know they will cause some inconveniences and we apologize for them ahead of time.”

Passholders will be able to swim at Dearborn’s two outdoor community pools — Dunworth and Ford Woods — during the maintenance week shutdown by showing their passholder cards. Both pools will be open from 4 to 7 p.m. weekdays and from noon to 6 p.m. Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day.

During maintenance week, the service desk at the center will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 31 to Sept. 3.

The Michael A. Guido Theater Box Office will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept 1 to 4.

The center will resume normal operations 5:30 a.m. Sept. 8.
