DEARBORN — A man robbed CVS/pharmacy, 13250 Ford Road, at gunpoint Aug. 23, stealing various prescription medication from the narcotics safe.
The man arrived at the store just before 10 a.m. and walked behind the pharmacy counter where he held the pharmacist at gunpoint, forcing him to open the narcotics safe.
The man demanded the pharmacist to place numerous prescription medications into a bag, described as blue with distinct lettering of RX printed on it.
Afterward, the man also forced the pharmacist to open the register drawer and place all the money into a bag.
The man exited the store and was last seen leaving in a black SUV eastbound on Ford Road.
Through photos captured on surveillance video, police were able to describe the suspect as a bald black male in his 40s, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 260 pounds. He was wearing a blue Orlando Magic hooded sweater, dark sunglasses and a dark baseball hat.
”These types of crimes will not be tolerated and we will utilize all available resources to apprehend the suspect responsible,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “It is only by the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies and the community that we can combat these crimes and bring these perpetrators to justice.”
