LINCOLN PARK – Police are looking for two men who shot a 39-year-old traveling on River Drive Monday morning.

According to police reports, the woman said she was driving south on River Drive and was approaching Lincoln Avenue about 2 a.m. when she saw two men standing in the road. The woman slowed, and one of the men approached the driver’s side door and began raising his arm. The man was holding a gun.

The woman accelerated and heard a loud gunshot.

“She didn’t know what happened but she felt her left arm go numb,” police reported.
The woman knew she’d been shot and drove to Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.

Responding officers noted the woman’s gunshot wound. Hospital staff confirmed that the woman suffered a broken arm and was scheduled for surgery.

The man who held the gun was described as black, in his 20s, medium height and with a thin build. The other man was described as white and in his 20s.

The woman did not see which direction the two went after the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lincoln Park Police Department at 313-381-1800.
