HEIGHTS — A woman was removed from the Dearborn Heights Justice Center, 25637 Michigan Ave., after she yelled and ripped multiple pages out of a Quran.

The woman was escorted out of the center Nov. 25 after she entered and began yelling obscenities toward the religion of Islam. She also tore pages from the Quran and threw them on the ground as she continued to yell at officers and witnesses.

As the woman was escorted out of the center she yelled, “I was married to a Muslim man,” and, “They killed my son.”

The woman spit on another witness walking by as a younger female attempted to help get the woman into a vehicle.

Witness Hassan Jaafar posted videos and photos of the incident on his Facebook page. The photos showed the torn pages of the Quran which Jaafar was able to take and dispose of properly.

Police said no charges were filed against the woman.

Since no charges were filed, the ripped pages were not used as evidence, allowing Jaafar to dispose of them properly.
