DEARBORN – Entertaining out-of-town guests over the holidays and looking for the best way to find restaurants, hotels and attractions in Dearborn?
Home from college for winter break and want to meet friends at the latest Dearborn hotspot?
Try the “Discover Dearborn” free mobile app.
It’s designed to aid residents and visitors to the Dearborn area in discovering the offerings of the community’s businesses and attractions. The app is a free download for Apple and Android users.
Searching within the categories of “Eat,” “Stay” and “Play,” app users can find locations to enjoy a meal, things to see and do, and local hotels by proximity to their location.
It was created by the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce, with support from the city of Dearborn, the West Dearborn Downtown Development Authority and the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority.
More than 5,000 visitors have checked out the app since its official launch in August at Dearborn’s Homecoming festival.
“Launching at Homecoming in August was perfect,” Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce President Jackie Lovejoy said. “It was a wonderful event to get the word out, and just five months after its official launch, we’re pleased with the number of people using the app.”
The app’s calendar of events includes concert series, food truck rallies, Dearborn Area Chamber community events, and other activities hosted by Dearborn-area organizations and the city of Dearborn.
“Showcasing all the area activities in one calendar makes it a snap to use for visitors, residents, and local employees,” Lovejoy said.
Sponsorships of the app are available for promotion and marketing opportunities. Businesses and organizations may contact on the DACC to learn more.
