Police searching for suspect in lounge shooting

DEARBORN — Police are asking for help identifying a suspect involved in a shooting at Liv Lounge, 21961 Michigan Ave., Feb. 27.

The incident occurred after the victim and suspect got into an altercation on the dance floor and shots were fired.

The suspect shot at the victim who sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. No other injuries were reported by police after the shooting which occurred on the crowded dance floor with several witnesses.

Officers are investigating the incident with the help of video surveillance and witness statements.

“Our number one priority is citizen safety,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said. “When that becomes jeopardized, we will do everything in our power to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice.”

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the shooter and any others responsible for the shooting.
