DEARBORN – What if you had the opportunity to go back in time and listen to one of America’s most cherished writers share their story and ask them questions?

From 2 to 4 p.m. March 19, the Henry Ford Centennial Library will bring the historical figure to you and it’s the famed Edgar Allan Poe. The eerie words of Poe will fill the air as the finale of The Big Read-Dearborn celebration.

Performing several Poe poems and stories will be none other than Poe himself — or herself — as played by actor Helen Uff, who has flown all over the country to portray Poe. When Uff is not in character, she serves as a park ranger at the Poe House in Philadelphia.

The public is invited to attend the Wrap Up Event to meet Poe, and also take part in the free drawing to win a night at the Poe House at the Dearborn Inn.

A draft of the book of Poe-inspired stories and poems, “Dreaming Dreams No Mortal Ever Dared to Dream Before,” will be ready, so the Dearborn writers who contributed to it can take a sneak peek.
