HEIGHTS — Firefighters battled a fire early Friday morning at a north end apartment complex leaving eight units damaged.

The fire broke out about 6 a.m. April 8 at Carriage Hill Apartments, 26322 Westphal Street, from a bathroom fan.

Fire Chief David Brogan said a preliminary investigation determined the fire spread to the attic area of one of buildings. Firefighters sprayed the second building with water to avoid the spreading of the fire.

About 8:30 a.m. firefighters were able to put out the fire which forced the closing of Cherry Hill Road.

Brogan said all residents were able to exit the apartment building with no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
