Meetings on proposed Fiscal Year 2017 budget begin April 14

DEARBORN – Mayor John O’Reilly Jr’s. proposed budget has been delivered to the City Council, and the public is invited to attend a meeting at 6 p.m. April 14 at the Dearborn Administrative Center, 16901 Michigan Ave., as the document is explained and discussed.

The proposed FY17 budget covers July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. Traditionally, several public meetings take place between the administration and the City Council prior to the public hearing and public adoption of the budget.

The budget must be approved by the City Council before the new fiscal year begins.

Another budget workshop will take place at 6 p.m. April 27 in the DAC. Residents attending the sessions should use the West Entrance of the DAC. As with the April 14 meeting, the April 27 session is also set for Room 1B.

The schedule of sessions will be updated at www.cityofdearborn.org in the Transparency section. Documents related to the proposed FY2017 budget will be continually posted on the website as they become available.
