MSP Metro Post to Host Citizens’ Academy

April 17, 2016 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

The Michigan State Police Metro Post will host a Citizens’ Academy from May 9 to July 25.

The eight-week academy will give the public an opportunity to become familiar with the mission and operation of the MSP, understand the procedures troopers follow, increase their awareness of law enforcement’s role in the community, and get to know personnel at the Metro Post.

The academy will meet from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. Mondays at the Metro Post, 14350 W. 10 Mile Road in Oak Park. A graduation ceremony will be held on July 25.

Anyone interested in attending should contact Trooper Mark Kellar at 313-215-3863 or via email at [email protected] to receive an application. The registration deadline is April 22.
