Vendor spots available for Summer Fest

TRENTON – Applications are still available for artists, craftsmen and food vendors to take part in the Trenton Summer Festival, set to begin June 24.

The annual street fair and celebration draws more than 100,000 visitors to the downtown area, with vendor booths lining Jefferson Avenue from Maple to Harrison among the many attractions of the three-day festival.

Parks and Recreation Director Joann Gonyea said the festival has for more than four decades been a summer staple in the community, and in 2008 was the first Downriver festival to provide a “green street” through recycling, a solar-powered entertainment stage and earth-friendly sponsors.

In 2013 festival dates were moved from July to June, and Gonyea said attendance and participation have supported the change.

This year’s theme, “Where Summer Begins,” features festival staples including live entertainment, sports tournaments and children’s activities.

Information on vendor booths and rates is available by contacting Festival Chairman Scott Barr at 734-675-7300 or via email at [email protected]
