HEIGHTS — An Inkster woman was charged with the death of a Dearborn Heights man who died in a three-vehicle crash June 24.
Christine Stevenson, 62, was charged June 26 with reckless driving causing death in 20th District Court before Judge David Turfe. Her bond was set at $10,000 personal and she is due back in court for a primary conference at 9 a.m. July 6.
The crash occurred on the intersection of Van Born and Beech Daly roads after Stevenson allegedly ran a red light while traveling west on Van Born.
The victim, Darrin Robertson, 50, was driving south on Beech Daly when he was struck causing him to eject through the vehicle’s sunroof and his vehicle to land on top of him.
Robertson was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police, and was pronounced dead at the scene about 11 a.m.
During the investigation, the intersection remained closed for three hours.
A third vehicle was involved in the crash when it was hit after being stopped on a red light on Van Born.
Stevenson and the pregnant driver of the third vehicle were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash and did not say whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
