9-week program for kids 3-12 starts Oct. 15

DEARBORN – Children ages 3 to 12 can learn the game of hockey this fall and winter through the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department’s “Introduction to Hockey” program.

Participants in the program learn and practice the basic skills of the sport, including skating, stick handling, passing and shooting.

The program meets Saturdays for nine weeks at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center, beginning Oct. 15. Two sessions are offered: noon to 12:40 p.m. for ages 3 to 8 and 12:40 to 1:20 p.m. for ages 9 to 12.

The cost is $60 for Dearborn residents and $70 for non-residents.

Participants may register at the DISC.

An additional nine-week session begins Jan. 7.
