Taylor Winter Festival, parade scheduled for Nov. 26

October 7, 2016 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

TAYLOR — The second Taylor Winter Festival and parade will kick off the holiday season at 4 p.m. Nov. 26.

Last year, a parade of community organizations and groups marched to the Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion for the official city tree lighting and to welcome Santa Claus with the key to the city.

The tree lighting also officially opens the Downriver Fish & Loaves Community Food Pantry’s Santa’s Magic Forest, which will be held in the Heritage Park Activities Building through Christmas.

The festival includes a parade, tree lighting, presentation of the Key to the City by Mayor Rick Sollars, Magic Forest kickoff, ice scluptures, carriage rides, free candy and music.

The city is accepting applications for parade participation. In addition, Fish & Loaves are seeking volunteers to work in Santa’s Magic Forest.
