Dearborn community book inspired by Poe, Big Read now available

November 13, 2016 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

big-read-bookDEARBORN – The book, “Dreaming Dreams No Mortal Ever Dared to Dream Before,” is now available.

It all started with a call from Dearborn Public Library and The Big Read partners and sponsors for scary stories and poetry, as part of the community-wide celebration of Edgar Allan Poe and his works.

Who knew they would receive upward of 240 entries? The result is this collection of Poe-inspired stories and poems, in which “you will find dreams (and nightmares), ghost stories, horror, madness, mystery, imagination, and even some humor,” according to the book’s back cover.

It is about 450 pages long and has works from over 150 authors with ties to Dearborn.

Paperback copies are $16 each, plus shipping if ordered online. To order copies online, go to www.createspace.com/6317921.

Limited copies will be available for checkout or for purchase at any Dearborn Public Library. Copies are also available for purchase at Amazon.com. All proceeds will be directed toward future Big Reads in Dearborn.

The Big Read program encourages reading and activities across a community, based on a single book. Dearborn has participated twice in The Big Read, first with “The Call of the Wild,” and then with “The Selected Works of Edgar Allen Poe.”
