DEARBORN — The Henry Ford College Renaissance Voices will perform “A Festival of Lessons & Carols” holiday concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 18, at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 N. Military.
Admission is $10 for adults, and$7 for senior citizens and students with valid photo identification.
Renaissance Voices is a choir comprised entirely of women. Members perform the finest in treble choral literature in numerous styles and languages. The ensemble has performed in four overseas concert tours and released three CDs.
“It’s always a pleasure to hear this talented ensemble of ladies perform,” HFC Music Instructor G. Kevin Dewey said. “The music of the holidays always brings out the best in them, which is a pure joy to behold. Also, the audience can sing along on some of the carols, hymn-style. It’s a real cozy lead-in to the holidays.”
HFC is home to one of the largest music programs with the most number of music ensembles of all two-year colleges in Michigan. The musicians represent a cross-section of HFC’s student body. Music ensembles from HFC have regularly toured and performed at special events across the nation and in Europe.
The Big Band and Midnight Blue Vocal Jazz ensembles have performed at the inaugurations of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Additionally, HFC musicians have performed at the National Museum of American History for approximately 4,000 attendees.
