New Year’s Eve revelers may be reimbursed up to $35 by a Southfield law firm if they take a cab home instead of getting behind the wheel after having too much to drink.
To be reimbursed, participants must contact a licensed cab company or Uber to take them home from the celebration. They pay for the ride home and get a receipt. The next day, they either can email a copy of the receipt and a copy of the participant’s valid driver’s license to [email protected] or mail a copy of the materials to Christensen Law Safe Ride Home, 25925 Telegraph Road, Suite 200, Southfield, MI, 48033.
Receipts must be received by Christensen Law by midnight Jan. 6 to be eligible.
The offer is good from 4 p.m. Dec. 31 to 4 a.m. Jan. 1. Riders must be at least 21 years old. The offer is good for a one-way ride home and must be within Wayne, Oakland, Washtenaw and Macomb counties.
Christensen Law founder Dave Christensen said the annual program is “an opportunity to make a difference on one of the most vulnerable nights of the year when it comes to people getting behind the wheel when they should be taking a cab.”
