HEIGHTS – Police Officer Patrick Thomas was promoted to the rank of sergeant during a Jan. 18 swearing-in ceremony at City Hall.

Thomas was sworn in by Deputy City Clerk Eve Schafer.

Thomas is a graduate of Divine Child High School, and a 2011 graduate of Madonna University. He also has completed coursework at Henry Ford College.

Thomas is a 16-year veteran of the department. Throughout his career, Thomas has earned several department awards and citations for his performance as an officer.

‘It was a pleasure seeing Officer Thomas’ promotion to the rank of sergeant” Police Chief Lee Gavin said. “Throughout his career, he has been an effective and welcome part of our department. This was certainly a well-earned and well-deserved promotion.”
