Inkster man sought in LP murder

LINCOLN PARK – Two men were shot in the 1200 block of Garfield early Saturday morning, one dying on the way to the hospital, and police have identified the alleged shooter.

With help from the public, police were able to identify Lloyd Nathaniel Ray, 24, of Inkster as the suspected shooter. Police are in the process of obtaining a warrant for his arrest.

Officers responded to a call of a shooting at 3:30 a.m. March 18. Two men were shot and two men were seen running from a house where the shootings occurred. The victims were taken to Detroit Receiving where one was pronounced dead on arrival and the other underwent surgery and is expected to recover.

Anyone encountering Ray should notify police immediately. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Ray is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 180 pounds with shoulder-length dreadlocks. Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Park police at 313-381-1800.
