DEARBORN — Henry Ford College will host an all-skills volleyball camp for students in grades 5 to 12 from July 17 to 21 in the Athletic Memorial Building on the main campus, 5101 Evergreen.
HFC volleyball head coach Rosemary Motamedi will run the camp. The 2017 HFC volleyball team, led by several all-conference players, will serve as camp assistants. Those who are interested must enroll in the camp that corresponds to the grade they will be entering this fall.
The camp fee is $85 for the middle school camp (this includes a camp T-shirt) and $125 for the high school camp. The fees include a camp T-shirt.

Skills that will be taught at the middle school camp, which runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day are: service, passing, blocking, defense, setting and attacking.
This camp is open to students entering grades 5 to 8 in the fall. It is for beginners to experienced volleyball players.
Skills that will be taught at the high school camp, which runs from 12:15 to 4:15 p.m. each day are: service (float jump and placement), passing (emphasis on execution and form), blocking (swing and standard), defense, setting and attacking.
This camp is open to students entering grades 9 to 12 in the fall. It is for intermediate to advanced volleyball players.
“These two volleyball camps are excellent opportunities for athletes to come have fun and improve their skills by playing the game they love,” Motamedi said.
Participants need to bring a large, refillable water bottle, and a healthy snack daily. A 15-minute break is scheduled each day.
