DEARBORN — The League of Women Voters of Dearborn/Dearborn Heights will host a voting rights town hall from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 23 at Henry Ford College.
Panelists Sharon Dolente from the American Civil Liberties Union; Charles Schoder, Michigan Civil Rights Commission; Rachid Elabed, ACCESS; and Lacy Dawson, Michigan Voice, will answer questions regarding voting rights and issues.
State legislators also will be in attendance to hear concerns. Legislators scheduled to attend are state Rep. Abdullah Hammoud (D-15th District), state Rep. Sylvia Santana (D-9th District), state Sen. Morris Hood (D-3rd District) and state Sen. David Knezek (D-5th District).
United Way for Southeastern Michigan and Democracy Institute at Henry Ford College also are sponsoring the town hall.
The town hall will be held in the Andrew A. Mazarra Administrative Services and Conference Center on the HFC main campus, 5101 Evergreen.
