Residents, families and staff celebrate together
DEARBORN – The annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on Dec. 14 at Oakwood Common gave residents, families and staff an opportunity to recognize and honor loved ones, sing holiday carols, enjoy a scrumptious buffet and special entertainment.
Providing the evening’s entertainment were the Downriver Brass Band, the Signature Band, Daniel Bergen, the Mercy Mimes from Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, BooBoo the clown and, not to be missed, a visit from Santa Claus.
For Donna Brandt, Oakwood Common sales manager, this year’s holiday event was extra special.
“In just the past few months, my mom moved to Oakwood Common from her home in Ohio, and my first grandchild was born,” Brandt said. “All four generations of our family were able to be together.”
Oakwood Common, a Beaumont community at 16351 Rotunda Drive in Dearborn, offers one- and two-bedroom senior living apartments in Dearborn. The 29-acre community includes nature trails and scenic views along the historic Rouge River Gateway.
