Special needs children and adults enjoy a fun game at “Special All-Stars Day.”
DEARBORN — Special needs children and adults will have the opportunity to participate in all of the fun and excitement of the Dearborn Homecoming at “Special All-Stars Day” om 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 3 at Ford Field Park 22051 Cherry Hill Road.
Free parking and access to all the rides and fun is off of the Brady or Morley Street entrances.
The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering for the seventh year with the city of Dearborn, Dearborn Community Fund, Wade Shows Inc., Little Caesars Pizza-Dearborn and Village Ford to offer this event, created to give children and adults with special needs an opportunity to enjoy select rides and old fashioned summertime fun
Volunteers will offer games, activities, a dance party, face painting and snacks. “All-Stars” will be the guests of Wade Shows Inc. and enjoy selected rides such as The Fun House, Tea Cup, Tilt-a- Whirl, Ferris Wheel, Bumper Cars, Merry-go-round, Super Slide and the Bumble Bee free of charge from 9 to 11 a.m.
Light refreshments will be served in the shelter next to the tennis courts. The event will feature the showing of a fire truck, provided by the Dearborn Fire Department, and a police car, courtesy of the Dearborn Police Department.
The Fur Angels will provide pet therapy dogs, Lil’ Jimmy Dearborn will provide music, DJ Mark Demers with MotorCityDJ.com will lead the dance party, Pooky the Clown will entertain, and Sparkle B. will offer face painting.
