Michigan’s longest zip line ready for riders

DEARBORN — Looking for a few more thrills in your life? Haven’t been to Camp Dearborn in a while?

Well, check out Camp Dearborn’s newest amenity, a zip line, which will open July 14 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m., presided over by Mayor John O’Reilly Jr.

The 1,400-foot zip line — the longest in Michigan — will take riders from a six-story tower at Elm Circle over the swimming lake and down to the main beach.

The zip line will be open from noon to 6:30 p.m. Thursday through Monday.

Tickets, available at the zip line tower, are priced at $13 per ride or three rides for $30 for overnight campers and $15 per ride or three rides for $40 for patrons visiting for the day.

For further information, call Camp Dearborn at 248-684-6000 or 313-943-2076.
