ALLEN PARK – Four City Council members – Angelo DeGiulio, Tina Gaworecki, Gail McLeod and Kevin Rourke – are running for mayor, so an Aug. 6 primary election is needed, City Clerk Mike Mizzi said Tuesday.
Mizzi said at the April 23 council meeting that all of the precincts for the Aug. 6 mayoral primary will be combined at one location, the city’s Community Center, 15800 White Ave.
The remaining two city council members, Harry Sisko and Larry Templin, who have faced recent health challenges, are not running for election to any city office.
Mizzi announced that 12 candidates are running for city council: Charles Blevins, Steve Gary, Tony Lalli, Daniel Loyd, Dennis Marcos, Brian McLellan, David Miller, Chad Morrow, Gary Schlack, Bob Stites, Pam Sych and Matt Valerius.
Mizzo is running unopposed for city clerk, and Maureen Armstrong is running unopposed for city treasurer in the Nov. 5 general election.
