DEARBORN – In its 38th year, the Dearborn Symphony Home Tour, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 18, will put the spotlight on an array of homes and gardens from the historic Golfview Oaks neighborhood.
Tickets are $20 in advance at www.dearbornsymphony.org, and $25 on the day of the tour at the tour headquarters, the Dearborn Country Club, 800 N. Military. Parking is free.
Five homes, including a garden, will be open this year in the historic Golfview Oaks neighborhood, a triangle-shaped area bordered by Golfview, Outer Drive and Ford Road.
Before the tour begins, Detroit-area interior designer Patrizia Makohon will speak at the DCC. Coffee and pastries will be served.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by calling 313-565-2424.
Makohon will answer decorating questions and offer ideas on color and design, for example, how to decorate a room using today’s color and design around great-grandmother’s Eastlake antique rocking chair.
The day also will include a luncheon at the DCC, priced at $25. Crafters will be on display at the country club with their wares available for purchase.
All proceeds from the day will benefit the Dearborn Symphony concerts, music scholarships and other youth music programs. The tour is presented annually by Friends of the Dearborn Symphony.
More than 20 members of Friends of the Dearborn Symphony have their time as docents and home chairs.
