Adult one-act plays also honored
Local thespians will honor Dearborn and Dearborn Heights high school theater performances at 7:30 p.m. May 21 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn. The adult scene directors for Random Acts of Theaters will also be adjudicated.
The high schools evaluated include Dearborn’s Divine Child High School, Edsel Ford High School and Dearborn High School, and Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights.
Edsel Ford’s spring musical “Mary Poppins,” which ran the second weekend in May, will be adjudicated during the 2019-20 awards season.
Director of the Dearborn Community Fund Emma Jean Woodyard and DATA Awards Committee Chairperson Joan Arrick will induct local performing arts advocate Don Bean in the Dearborn Theatre Hall of Fame. Bean, tech director of the COMPAC Michael A. Guido Theater, also worked with the Dearborn Civic Theatre, and supervised setup for Dearborn Homecoming, parades and ice shows at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center.
Throughout the evening, local thespians will entertain attendees with theatrical performances.
