TAYLOR – A masked armed robber escaped with $2,030 in $10 and $20 bills about 2:25 p.m. June 3 from Total Community Credit Union, 25155 Goddard.

The threatened teller said the man was black, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin build, wearing a gray hoodie, gray sweat pants, a gray baseball cap, light gray gloves and wearing a black mask over his face. She said he approached her station and passed her a note which stated, “Fill the bag with money, I have a gun.”

She told police officers that she was scared, and filled a manila envelope with the cash from her till, without adding a dye pack or any marked bills. She said he repeatedly urged her to “hurry up.”

The man then put the cash envelope in a black grocery bag and ran out of the building, taking the note with him. The teller said he ran south through the parking lot toward Sunrise Apartments on Brydan Drive, where she lost sight of him.

The teller said she did not see the gun mentioned in the note.

Police officers viewed the security footage, which shows the man entering a small field and woods south of the parking lot.

A K-9 unit tracked the suspect to a grassy area near the apartment complex, where tire tracks were visible in the grass, at a spot near the complex’s main drive and the northernmost east-west road. A search of the area netted no further information.
