RIVERVIEW – A motorcyclist struck by a car on Sibley near Fort the afternoon of June 6 is in stable condition in the intensive care unit of Beaumont Southshore Hospital in Trenton.

Riverview Police Chief Clifford Rosebohm said the motorcyclist, a 52-year-old Trenton woman, was not wearing a helmet. She was hit by a car driven by an 18-year-old Southfield man, who reportedly turned into the path of the motorcycle.

Riverview emergency medical personnel were among the first responders, and transported the woman to the hospital. The car driver was not injured.

The crash is under investigation by the Downriver Crash Team, whose members include Michigan State Police officers and other Downriver agencies that have personnel trained to investigate these types of incidents, as well as support the Riverview Police Department, Rosebohm said in a June 7 statement.
