Nancy Hamood-Strutz (center) is surrounded by Dearborn Police Department officers and employees at her house for a tribute on June 21. Hamood-Strutz, assistant to the police chief, retired that same day after working in the department for 40 years and serving five police chiefs, including current Police Chief Ronald Haddad. “She has been the face and the voice of our Police Department that has literally engendered trust around the world,” Haddad wrote on Facebook. “Nancy is honorable, reliable, professional and without question most dependable.”
