Registration is underway at Ford Center

DEARBORN — Area youngsters can learn to swim this summer through lessons offered by the Recreation & Parks Department at the city’s outdoor pools, beginning July 8.

The two-week session, during which classes meet Monday through Thursday for 30 minutes, runs through July 18 at Dunworth, Lapeer, Summer Stephens and Ten Eyck pools. Makeup classes, if required, will be conducted on Fridays.

An additional two-week session will run July 22 to Aug. 1.

Dunworth Pool will offer a final two-week session Aug. 5 to 15.

The cost is $60 for Dearborn residents and $80 for non-residents.

All participants must also purchase a seasonal swim tag. Tags for Dearborn residents, ages 17 and under, are $55. Non-resident tags are $120.

Swim lesson registration and pool tag sales are conducted at the service desk of the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.
