Softball State Champs!

Melvindale’s Girls Senior Little League Softball team won its first Michigan championship and is headed for the regional playoffs July 22 in Byron Center near Grand Rapids, where they will face Iowa in the opening round. The regional winner will advance to the Little League World Series. Team members are: Jacqui Lozoya (front row left), Abbigail Myshock, Jalyn Ramirez and Joelle Zarazua, Gianna Kemp (second row left), Emily Biggott, Hailey Holbrook, Brianna Manfre, Meghan Robinson, Coach Matt Biggott (back row left), Kennedi Osaraek, Coach Mike Gable, Mily Garcia, Kaylee Gonzalez, Coach Joe Zarazua and Chloe Turnbull. The team is the first softball team from District 5 to win the state title.
