McLeod, Rourke advance in Allen Park mayoral race

ALLEN PARK – Kevin Rourke and Gail McLeod, the top two of four mayoral primary candidates in yesterday’s Allen Park primary election, will advance to the Nov. 6 general election.

With more than 12 percent of registered city voters casting a ballot, the unofficial election summary last night indicated that Kevin Rourke received 861 votes, or 32 percent, with Gail McLeod in a close second, with 807 votes, or 30 percent of the votes.

Angelo DeGiulio received 630 votes, or 23 percent, and Tina Gaworecki received 391 votes, or 15 percent.
