The annual fair offered free immunizations, physicals, vision and diabetes testing to those between the ages of 5 to 18, along with free prizes, giveaways, arts and crafts, haircuts, backpacks and school supplies. Vendors for the fair included Books for Benefits, Henry Ford Health System, Power House Gym, Healthy Dearborn, The American Red Cross, Mocha Sweets, Children’s Dental Care and Sharp Cuts.

Amity Foundation distributed over 1,200 backpacks to students at Dearborn and Crestwood schools because of donations and community support. “There is no better way to help someone in need than helping to support their education,” Amity Foundation Founder Amad Elzayat wrote on Facebook. “We thank you all for your support.”

With the help of University of Michigan-Dearborn student volunteers, 500 backpacks were stuffed and distributed to income eligible community members. Volunteers also spent the day learning about substance abuse prevention, nutrition education and community service along with gardening and cleaning up the surrounding area.
