DEARBORN — The Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a gala Sept. 19 at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.
Tickets are $120, and can be obtained online at www.dearbornareachamber.org or by calling 313-584-6100. Sponsorships are available.
Woodward Avenue Records recording artist Ben Sharkey will be the evening’s entertainment. Starkey infuses his live performances with a hip and sultry fire, bringing his artful swagger with a colorful fusion of old school cool, swinging jazz, soul and contemporary pop. Sharkey released his second album Mercury Rising in the summer of 2018.
The Michigan native is a veteran of hundreds of performances at venues such as the Fillmore, Royal Oak Music Theater and Comerica Park, also playing at jazz venues like Cliff Bell’s, and a five-year residency at Axis Lounge at the MGM Grand Detroit.
The 75th Anniversary Gala will have the museum to itself. Revelers will be able to explore all the exhibits while the museum is closed to the public.
“To enjoy and celebrate our growth we are thrilled to offer this night of cheer,” DACC President Jackie Lovejoy said. “I’m delighted to welcome Ben Sharkey. I’m even more thrilled to be a steward of this great institution.”
