DEARBORN — Police are seeking information about a woman’s body found this morning in a field along Paul Avenue and the Southfield Freeway on the border of Dearborn and Detroit.

Officers responded to the field at 7:45 a.m. on a report of an unresponsive woman, a 34-year-old Taylor resident, police said.

First responders and Detroit Fire Department personnel immediately provided first aid to the woman who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified, but her name was being withheld as of press time pending family notification.

Detectives and crime scene investigators arrived at the scene to identify, gather evidence and search the area for potential witnesses. The Southfield Freeway northbound service drive exit at Paul was closed in the morning and the scene was taped off.

Police are asking Detroit residents in the area of Paul and the Southfield Freeway check their security camera systems for any suspicious activity between 4 and 9:30 a.m. today.

The incident is under investigation and additional details will be released as they become available. Anyone with information can call Dearborn police at 313-943-2241.

“The Dearborn police will coordinate all resources in an effort to bring the subjects to justice,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said in a press release.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest of the perpetrators. To provide information anonymously call 800-SPEAK UP.
