Dearborn Heights police are searching for a man who swindled KFC, 4605 S. Telegraph Road, out of $180. The man ordered food, paid with a $50 bill, and was given $45 in change. Police said he then gave that money back to the employee to make change. The employee made change, gave it back to the man, then the man asked for his original money back, causing the employee to become confused by the quick exchanges. This same exchange took place three more times until the man had approximately $180 in extra change from the original transaction. He left the restaurant with his food in a silver four-door sedan with tinted windows. The same man returned three days later, attempting he same exchange but was unsuccessful with a different employee. The man was described as black, in his 30s, 6 feet tall and 260 pounds. Anyone with information on the suspect can contact Detective Sgt. Shaun Pawlus at 313-277-7707 or [email protected]
