Volunteers are needed to construct the 2019 Santa’s Magic Forest from Oct. 5 to 23. Taylor Winterfest opens Nov. 30 and runs through Christmas.
TAYLOR — The volunteer group that creates Santa’s Magic Forest seeks helpers.
Construction of the display takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 23, at the Heritage Park Activities Building, located almost directly behind the library. Volunteers can work the whole time period or just some of it.
Anyone can help; this is an opportunity for students who are seeking “community hours.” Just clear it with their teacher or supervisor, and take along the form.
The annual tradition opens during the 2019 Taylor Winterfest on Nov. 30 and runs through Christmas. Advertised as “Downriver’s finest holiday display” it welcomes visitors Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Dec. 23.
Winterfest hours will be 3 to 8 p.m. Nov. 30 and then 5 to 8 p.m. on Fridays, 1 to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 7 p.m. Sundays. General admission is $3 per person; children 3 and younger are admitted free. Photos with Santa Claus are $8.
