DEARBORN — Guten appetit! Fifty-One O One – the student-run restaurant at Henry Ford College, 5101 Evergreen — will host its annual Oktoberfest Buffet on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. for lunch and from 6 to 8 p.m. for dinner.

The cost is $13.95 per person; reservations are recommended. To make reservations or for further information, call 313-206-5101 or go to www.henryfordculinary.com.

The buffet-style menu will include: Bavarian potato soup, Frankenmuth-style chicken, sauerbraten (carved to order), bratwurst and knackwurst with sauerkraut, braised red cabbage, spiced cider apples, späetzle, hot German potato salad and glazed baby carrots.

The price includes a salad bar, where customers can choose: tossed garden salad with assorted house-made dressings, assorted pickled and fresh vegetables, cucumbers with dill-sour cream dressing and marinated beet salad.

Dessert will include: apple strudel, Black Forest torte, German stollen bread, and pretzel rolls.

Craft beer and wine will be available for separate purchase (beer and wine are now available for purchase at both lunch and dinner).

“Oktoberfest is easily one of the most popular special events at Fifty-One O One,” HFC hospitality instructor Lauren Wallace said. “This event gives our culinary arts and hospitality management students the opportunity to expand their horizons with a specific food and culture.”

The restaurant is in the Student & Culinary Arts Center on the main campus.
